Media Legend Andy Johnson to Host the NIM Festival Awards
The Nominations from the Official Selection for the Nottingham International Microfilm Festival have been announced and the winners will be celebrated at a new addition to the Festival this year, with an Awards Ceremony.
Scheduled to be held on Friday 9 March at the Nottingham Contemporary and hosted by Andy Johnson, Awards will be presented to the winners in over 20 categories celebrating short film success from comedy to content, drama to dialogue in a glittering ceremony.
Johnny Marr, Sir Bobby Charlton and Yoko Ono were just three of the people Andy made films with during his 17-year career as a BBC presenter and reporter. Andy presented live from London 2012 and the BBC1 current affairs programme Inside Out, and appeared on BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio Four’s Today programme and Five Live.
Andy now runs his own media consultancy in Manchester offering media coaching and storytelling workshops to clients including The National Trust, National Farmers’ Union, Royal College of Nursing and Allied Manchester Business School. In demand as an MC, Andy is the live stage host at Advertising Week Europe where he has interviewed Stanley Tucci, Piers Morgan, David Haye and Lauren Laverne.
He also hosts events and chairs discussions for clients including Greater Manchester Business Hub, Saffery Champness and We Are Adam and working with the award-winning producer Emma Victoria Houlton, Andy writes and hosts podcasts including the Bulletproof Agency Network podcast recorded at MediaCityUK. Andy also guest lectures at Manchester Metropolitan University and as part of his duties with us in 2018, will also host The Fresh Creative Awards and the VR Expo Awards, which are taking place as part of the Nottingham Media Festival, the banner brand for the NIM Festival.
